WP8: iMarine Data e-Infrastructure Enabling Technology Development

WP Leader: CNR - Participants: NKUA, E-IIS, FAO

Completed in October 2013

WP9: Data Management Facilities Development

WP Leader: CNR - Participants: NKUA, CERN, TERRADUE, FAO

Completed in January 2014

WP10: Data Consumption Facilities Development

WP Leader: NKUA - Participants: CNR, FORTH, TERRADUE, FAO

During last month, the SRU compliance of the Search System has been completed. Restful SRU consumer, the SRU RDBMS adapter and the SRU gCube Search System adapter have been implemented, using the resource-aware libraries. Furthermore, gCube Data Transformation Service is being used in order to consume a SRU source and provide the results as a list of mappings.

Moreover, Index has been extended to support clustering capabilities of the retrieved results, used for results visualization . A widget for visualizing the outcome of the clustering is been examined.

Database Adaptor's resources management is now done through its http interface. Also, a client library is now able to discover the endpoints and create a link for gDTS services to access the underlying data.

Due to performance and deployment problems the underlying database of Resource Registry has changed from Derby to inmemory H2. Also, Resource Registry performance bug that affected the SearchSystem operation was fixed. Another problem regarding Index Service was investigated and elasticsearch team has planned to fix it upon next release.

The Construction of the MarineTLO-based warehouse v4 was completed. XLink library was updated to support linking entities with data coming from the Chimaera SPARQL endpoint.

Finally, WPS-Hadoop migration to the research-infrastructures.eu CDH4 hadoop cluster took place. Also, WPS-Hadoop Web Client was improved and support for WPS ComplexData POST requests.
