This WP3 Activity Report described the activities performed in April 2013 by Beneficiary and Task.

T3.3 Harmonisation of Metadata, Semantics and Technologies

FAO Activities

  • Cotrix: identify new developer. Continue on UI, import / export. Continue on architecture and data model. Discuss and identify opportunities for semantic services in Cotrix.
  • Cotrix; position better in the FAO / iMarine collaboration.
  • SPREAD: validate WPS re-allocation algorithm. A ticket was set-up (https://issue.i-marine.research-infrastructures.eu/ticket/1545) in order to discuss integration aspects.
  • GeoSpatial: GIS Data Access / Discovery:
  • FAO GIS Data management:
    • Management tracked with JIRA: http://193.43.36.238:9090/browse/FGI
    • Inventory of layers in Oracle + clean operation with Fabio with the objective to make free and import other required layers.
    • FAO Areas: a set of WPS processings has been developed to process the master data, and discriminate the target usages (FIGIS internal vs. Public dissemination). Automating the data management flow will be tackled later with GeoBatch flows (see below the Geobatch use cases)
    • FAO species distributions: The Java routine has been enhanced using the geoserver-manager library in which 2 additional features were contributed (support for MetadataLinkInfo encoding & SQL View layer publication). According to feedback received from Geonetwork users, the metadata content has been improved (description, data access online resources). It will be made available with the next run. More species distributions will be made available (depends on FLOD).
  • Intersection Engine: Additional tests were performed. They are still pending issues beyond iMarine. The GenericIntersection WPS process (expected for future enhanced IE) is implemented. Used to generate intersections for SPREAD, FIRMS, FACP
  • FLOD: JIRA: the FLOD service to enrich GEONETWORK metalayer with ASFIS, FIGIS ID and WORMS ID requires an import of FLOD wit the uncovered ASFIS species.
  • FLOD JIRA: the new species set of ASFIS requires import of WoRMS species equivalent and their mappings.
