This WP10 Activity Report described the activities performed in March 2013 by Beneficiary and Task.

T10.1 Data Retrieval Facilities
NKUA Activities
During this month NKUA worked on the integration of the Forward Index with Couchbase (#897). Also, the documentation of the new FullText Index has started. The related wiki pages are Admin Page and Developer's Guide

Terradue Activities
The WOA 2009 cleansing service is now avalailble as an OpenSearch catalogue. It is deployed in a server with an internal IP in Terradue VPN. The Production environment will include this service in April.

T10.2 Data Manipulation Facilities
NKUA Activities
During this month, effort was put into releasing the new version of gDTS client libraries and also some of the libraries of gDTS.

T10.3 Data Mining and Visualisation Facilities
CNR Activities
CNR worked on the integration of the Taxa Match Algorithm by FIN with the SM #1283. The algorithm was finally integrated and published in the development environment. To such aim the databases of FishBase and SeaLifeBase had to be translated to Postgres and made available in the infrastructure #1362. Furthermore, CNR carried on the collaboration with Dr. Rainer Froese for running an R algorithm to estimate length-weight relationships #1331. The result was a decrease in the computational time from 20 days (on a local desktop machine) to 2 days on our multi-core server.

NKUA Activities
NKUA has worked on extending the GeoExplorer facilities by creating an interactive filter which can be used on the existing species timeseries maps. Further description is provided on the relevant ticket #1549.

T10.4 Semantic Data Analysis Facilities
FORTH Activities
During this month FORTH worked on the following activities in the context of T10.4.
- A problem occurred when the element title in the search results was not in the presentable fields. As a consequence the semantic data enrichment was failing. The issue has been resolved by making the appropriate corrections at the xsearch-portlet side. The corrected version of xsearch-portlet will be included in the next gCube release. Related ticket #1453.
- Based on the requirements about enriching RDF files with the URIs of named entities, FORTH collected them in XX and started some possible drafting some possible designs for the implementation of the above. Related ticket #1187.
- Forth presented the alternative new designs for XSearch components (xsearch-portlet and xsearch-service) in the 5th TCOM. FORTH also discussed them in detail with NKUA to identify the pros and cons of each approach. Related ticket #1006.
