This WP3 Activity Report described the activities performed in November 2012 by Beneficiary and Task.
It is part of Monthly Activity Report.
T3.1 User Community Mediation
FAO Activities
FAO participated to the iMarine review in Brussels.
In the mediation task, FAO continued to engage with the EA-CoP. examples are
- The FishFinder group that is interested in receiving a VRE for Species Fact Sheets.
- The Cotrix collaboration shaping with the VocBench group in FAO
- FLOD dissemination activity

The Feed-back period for the iMarine Board Meeting 2 closed, and in this reporting period the reporting was performed.

T3.3 Harmonisation of Metadata, Semantics and Technologies
FAO Activities
Activities continued on:
- FLOD; mainly defining the TLO and preparing data.
- SPREAD; discussion the implementation of the re-allocation algorithm and the data discovery across infrastructures.
- Cotrix; discussions with the VocBench team to align activities in a work-plan. Prepare contract for developer.
Requirements collection and validation of outputs involved staff from FAO, FIN, CRIA, IOC/Unesco
D3.4 was delayed a few days due to late interventions that required clarifications.

FORTH Activities
The TLO-Development activity has recently been planned to follow the six sub-activities (or tasks) described here http://wiki.i-marine.eu/index.php/Top_Level_Ontology. As the process of developing the TLO ontology is based on an Iterative and Incremental development approach (we will have more than one iteration for each involved task), we have focused on an ontological analysis of FLOD and ECOSCOPE and reporting what has been observed and investigated.

IRD Activities
Work on metadata standards for geospatial cluster: 19115 and 19119 (19139) as a way describe data sources and related services. CSW as a way to enable iMarine infrastructure to harvest IRD data. Technology watch on WPS for R and IDL processings. Technology watch on quadstore mechanisms in Jena (in progress)
Update of previous metadata to share a common approach with FAO.
A first WPS (R code) has been shared and validated with Terradue. This will be used for other R codes.
