T6.3 Virtual Research Environments Common Interfaces and Tools
CNR Activities
The CNR activity focused on the development and the release of the following software applications:
- The Software Upload Wizard
- Integrated in the Resource Management Portlet and released in gCube 2.10
- Resource Management Portlet
- was refactored to support the new Resource Manager service (2.0)
- Integration of the Software Upload Wizard completed.
- VRE Definition, VRE Deployment and VRE Deployer portlets
- Interface was restyled
- updated to work with the new VRE Modeler service
- Started development of Software Deploy Wizard widget. The widget will allow gCube authenticated users to deploy software registered on the infrastructure on several GHNs.
- Developed re-usable widget wizard library.
- Species Products Discovery Portlet
Enhancements of the Species Products Discovery Portlet are the following:
- the view of new data (LSID, Author, Properties, Taxonomic Status, Taxon Remarks) for taxonomy items;
- save of children of taxonomy items - a new window called "Species Job" is available for monitoring the backend creation of dwc (darwin core archive) that contains the children of a taxonomy classification;
- the view of new metadata (Author, Properties) for the occurrence points.
The code has been updated in order to fit the recent changes in the service client.

- gCube 2.10 release contains the new: VRE Definition, VRE Deployment, VRE Deployer and Resource Management Portlets.
NKUA Activities
- NKUA activities during this period were focused on the gCube 2.10 release and on performing various tests regarding search performance. These tests led to some improvement fixes to ASL search library.

- SearchManager portlet released in 2.10 making available the semantic annotations on fields
- Search portlet released in 2.10 and provides integration with the XSearch portlet
T6.4 Virtual Research Environments Development Support
NKUA Activities
- Provided support to FORTH in order to finalize and test the integration of XSearch portlet with the gCube portal
