  • After the webinar we have been contacted by Mauro Randone

MedTrends is an EU project funded by Programme Med 2007-2013 and the European Regional Development Fund. The one-year project, carried out by a consortium of WWF offices, led by WWF-France, started in June 2014 and aims at illustrating and mapping the most likely integrated scenarios of marine economic growth at a transnational level in the Med-EU countries for the next 20 years, in order to highlight potentially conflicting uses that may hinder the achievement of Good Environmental Status (GES) according to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. The project will involve the development of GIS maps of the current status and future trends of the main economic sectors (tourism, fisheries, oil&gas, maritime transport etc.) in the national waters of 8 countries in the Mediterranean Sea. In order to achieve this objective, there will be a team of GIS experts, one from each country, working on the project.

We were interested in knowing if iMarine could represent a suitable platform for sharing a common GIS geodatabase and to work with QGIS files and maps. Has it been used for similar purposes before?

WP5: iMarine Data e-Infrastructure Deployment and Operation

WP Leader: CERN - Participants: CNR, NKUA, FAO, FIN

CNR and NKUA have been keeping up and running the provided nodes hosting development, testing and production GHNs.

CNR has been keeping up and running all the development tools and the monitoring, based on Ganglia, and alerting, based on Nagios, infrastructures.

A DNS issue affected the operation of NKUA site. Identification of intermediate DNS server that was causing problems and immediately contacting the responsible authority that fixed the problem.

  • Operation of the production infrastructure
