This WP10 Activity Report described the activities performed in December 2013 by Beneficiary and Task.
It is part of the December 2013 Monthly Activity Report.
T10.1 Data Retrieval Facilities
NKUA Activities
The activities of NKUA included:
- Bug fixing:
- OpenSearch Collection harmonization:
- ResourceRegistry has been updated to retrieve the OpenSearch Collection from GenericResource with DataSource type (#1889).
- Enterprise/Federated Search External Datasources Support:
- The design for supporting external datasources has been completed (#2437).
- Index and Search Feautures:
- ForwardIndexNode and SearchSystemService has been extended to moves to their running instance status to FAILED on Resource Registry initialization fail (#1749).
- PE2ng integration with new Resource Accounting:
- The new resource Accounting framework has been integrated with PE2ng (#2503).
- Wikidoc Validation:

- Integration with new Resource Accounting Framework.

NKUA Activities
gCube Data Transformation Service is being expanded to include one more data source. HTTP data source will be added to Data Transformation Handlers, reading data through HTTP protocol in xml format (#2489)

T10.3 Data Mining and Visualisation Facilities
CNR Activities
During the month of December, CNR concentrated on adjustment of the BiOnym procedure, to enhance the performances #2236. Furthermore, the problem of finding an automatic definition of Common Species was addressed, were the focus moved on threatened\unthreatened species. The result adopted an approach based on clustering and moved the focus on species from the North Sea, in order to be validated by a biologist #2197. On the Service side, activity focused on the import of generic files onto the SM, where a text file or a Darwin Core Archive file can be uploaded into the system #2359. Activities also concentrated on enhancements of the service, in registering external databases #1319, adjusting tooltips #2436 and managing the presence of a single SM in two VOs #2436. Finally, the SM portlet was transformed into a widget #2447.

T10.4 Semantic Data Analysis Facilities
FORTH Activities
During this period FORTH worked on:
- The construction of a new warehouse (version 3+) which stores the contents coming from different sources to separate graphspaces. Moreover it computes various quality metrics for evaluating the warehouse and allows incrementally refreshing it. Related ticket: #2433
- Resolved an issue in the communication between xsearch-service and the SPARQL endpoint of the warehouse. Related ticket: #746
- Bugs fixing in xsearch-portlet. Related ticket: #748
