It is part of March 2013 Monthly Activity Report.

T9.1 Data Access and Storage Facilities

FAO Activities

The beneficiary should report here a summary of the activities performed in the reporting period

The beneficiary should report here major issues faced in the reporting period and the identified corrective actions, if any.

The beneficiary should report here a bullet list highlighting the main achievements of the reporting period

CNR Activities

Species Discovery Service

The CNR team has been involved in the following activities:

OAI Tree Manager Plugin

  • The uiu-oai-harvester library has been modified in order to retrieve a list of sets
  • A tree collection was created in devNext
  • Document OAI-TM Plugin: provided a WIKI documentation on the OAITMPlugin, including:
    • a tree model generated by OAITMPlugin
    • the generic model in XMLSchema
    • the Maven coordinates of OAITMPlugin component.
  • Related ticket: #1513

Storage Manager version 2.0.0

  • Porting on FWS #1388
  • File upload by OutputStream #1411
  • version 2.0.0 of storage manager also includes a dynamic loading of backend system (eg. MongoDB).
  • Document Storage-manager: provided a WIKI documentation on the Storage-Manager, including:
    • Storage-manager version 2.0.0 section

  • Storage Manager bug fix: URI Resolver on SMP protocol #1414

The beneficiary should report here a bullet list highlighting the main achievements of the reporting period

T9.2 Data Transfer Facilities

CERN Activities

The following activities have been performed in the context of Data Transfer:

  • HTTP URI resolver for SMP protocol (1414) to be released in 2.14
  • The Data Transfer components have been integrated with Messaging Common Library in order to use Messaging when submitting/ retrieving result of transfers. ( 945, 946, 947) . Enhancements to be released in gCube 2.14
  • A new portlet for Storage Manager has been implemented (1413) , to be released in gCube 2.14.

Terradue Activities

This month's activities have been focused on preparing the TCOM in Pisa and on the implementation of the WPS-hadoop enhancements. They are practically concluded. The IRD Occurrences kernel density contour lines Legacy Application integration has progressed with the development of an SPD client and this is the first service to be exposed in April on the Production environment.

WPS-hadoop with enhancements implemented. Results can be tracked here: https://issue.i-marine.research-infrastructures.eu/ticket/1467 and https://issue.i-marine.research-infrastructures.eu/ticket/1466

T9.3 Data Assessment, Harmonization and Certification Facilities

CNR Activities

During the month of March CNR worked on the design of Tabular Data system (ex TimeSeries) (#1443). With this activity CNR tried to address all of the requirements that were collected in a previous activity (| #1224). A list of components to be delivered has been produced:

  • cube-manager: keep a hold of the structure of the tables, their distinctive type (dataset, codelist, hierarchical codelist) and the relationships between them. It allows to add, clone, remove tables from the DB.
  • validation engine: allows to perform validations on tables. Address requirements related to #1193.
  • transformation engine: allows to perform several kind of transformations on data
  • import-export engines (csv, sdmx, json)
  • mondrian analysis
  • tabular data service
  • GUI

CNR started development on cube-manager library by producing prototype implementations both for the interface (cube-manager-api) and the implementation (cube-manager) #1471.

CNR developed a prototype implementation for an interface that should be implemented by every component that works on statistical data in the Tabular Data environment (#1474). The interface should provide means for extending the Tabular Data features in the future.
