Attended by Skype the presentation of the Biodiversity Cluster during the EC review.

Discussed with Vanderlei Caminhos to finalize the CRIA activities during the second period.
Met with Ward Appeltans and Edward vanden Berghe in Oostende to finalize their activities during the second period. Summary of discussion to be disseminated for the next SG discussion.

Attended the OBIS Steering Group meeting and mention several times the infrastructure and its capacities. iMarine was well mentioned in the report delivered by Ward. Also Bruno Danis (co-chair of the OBIS SG and ex project manager of SCAR-Marbin) gave a nice presentation on the communication tools used by OBIS. We could review that presentation with TRUST-IT to check if we could engage in a non-explored technology yet.

FORTH Activities

The TLO-Development activity has recently been planned to follow the six sub-activities (or tasks) described here http://wiki.i-marine.eu/index.php/Top_Level_Ontology. As the process of developing the TLO ontology is based on an Iterative and Incremental development approach (we will have more than one iteration for each involved task), we have focused on an ontological analysis of FLOD and ECOSCOPE and reporting what has been observed and investigated.

Terradue Activities

Terradue reviewed the Visualization document provided by FAO (E. Blondel). The comments will be integrated in a next draft, mainly focused on improving the existing services that are already provided by the e-infra for data discovery and access. Terradue also suggested the inclusion of R as an approach to visualize raw and aggregated data from time-series, preferably through the e-infrastructure. The approach has been prototyped with the R code provided by IRD. Terradue furthermore initiated an open discussion on the support of legacy applications on the WPS-hadoop framework. Several legacy applications very useful for the environmental contextualization are written in IDL (e.g. IRD legacy applications). Terradue started to investigate on the how iMarine deals with legacy applications.

Update of previous metadata to share a common approach with FAO.

A first WPS (R code) has been shared and validated with Terradue. This will be used for other R codes.
