This WP9 Activity Report described the activities performed in April 2012 by Beneficiary and Task.

It is part of April 2012 Monthly Activity Report.

T9.1 Data Access and Storage Facilities

FAO Activities

FAO has worked towards releasing the new tree-based access components for 2.9.0, including alignment with the latest requirements for build integration on SA archive generation, deploy and the new requirements on software profiles.

FAO has also supported the development of tree-manager clients that will be co-released in 2.9.0, particularly the data-transfer components.

CNR Activities

CNR finished with the development of the Worms and Catalog of Life plugins. Furthermore an export of the data in Darwin Core format was performed.

None to report

  • CoL plugin implementation
  • Worms plugin implementation
  • Darwin Core export format for species data

T9.2 Data Transfer Facilities

CERN Activities

CERN has worked in the implementation of the first component for Data Transfer to be released in gCube 2.9.0. This activity beside the implementation, required work on Etics to create the related component configurations. In addition CERN together with NKUA prepared the wiki description of the milestone MS38 on Data transfer Specification. The milestone has been achieved on time

MS38 milestone on Data Transfer Achieved.

NKUA Activities

NKUA has been working on incorporating gRS2 into the new gCube Data Transfer Service.

The following task has been completed in order to achive the goal of supporting HTTP as gRS2 transfer method:

  • Implementation of the HTTP Broker that exposes the result set as an http endpoint has been completed. HTTP Broker has been developed as web servlet and is deployed on an application server such as Apache Tomcat.

The support HTTP as gRS2 transfer method facilities (HTTP as transfer method and HTTP Broker) are ready to be released.

In addition NKUA has completed the gRS2 Specification according to the milestone MS38.

  • HTTP Broker Servlet has been implemented.
  • gRS2 Specification has been completed.

Terradue Activities

Terradue has finished the development operations of WPS-hadoop in this month, has created the relative Documentation and it has filled the g-cube wiki with a short technical description of its new tool.

T9.3 Data Assessment, Harmonization and Certification Facilities

CNR Activities

During the April month CNR team solved some bugs in the Time Series environment. In particular they managed (i) an uncorrect support of float types in the Code Management application (ii) an erroneous limit in the title length and in code lists description. Furthermore CNR team completed the integration with the RStudio IDE adding the functionality of dynamically passing information to the R environment. All information is collected from the infrastructure and passed through a secure channel to the IDE. Finally a new streaming-based SDMX client was defined, along with a new Code List Manager system, in agreement with the FAO team.

No deviation to report

  • Bug fixing on the Time Series Application
  • Completion of a secure interaction between the Time Series Application and the RStudio Environment
  • Design of a new SDMX interaction for Code Lists management
